Click the START menu and then click CONTROL PANEL.
When the Control Panel opens click NETWORK AND INTERNET.
Click NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER.
Click CHANGE ADAPTER SETTINGS.
Double click the icon for your network adapter. In most cases it will be the LOCAL AREA CONNECTION icon.
When the Local Area Connection Status window opens, click PROPERTIES.
The Local Area Connection Properties window will open. There will be a list of checked items in the middle of the window. One of the items in the list will be labeled INTERNET PROTOCOL VERSION 4 (TCP/IPv4). Click this item (on the text, not the check mark) and it will be selected. Click PROPERTIES.
When the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window open, verify the following:
- There should be a filled selection mark next to OPTAIN AN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY
- There should be an empty selection mark next to USE THE FOLLOWING IP ADDRESS
- There should be a filled selection mark next to OBTAIN DNS SERVER ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY
- There should be an empty selection mark next to USE THE FOLLOWING DNS SERVER ADDRESSES
Click OK on all open windows.
